Error reading setup initialization file

I'm trying to install the "pm52en_r11179.exe" after installing Visio 2003. Direct after starting the installer, the error "Error reading setup initialization file" shows up and installation is terminated.
OS: Windows XP SP3, .NET 2.0
Applications: Visio 2003 (also Excel 2003, Word 2003, Powerpoint 2003 available)
Browser: Internet Explorer 7
I'll be attending Bruce Silvers training in a few weeks and this should be working by then...
What did I wrong?
