This error causes if the my.ini file cannot be found in the Server path. The file is located typically under C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1

Could you try to place this file there and try again.

Thanks for the quick reply! When I try to run the team repository wizard I get the following error, which prevents me from continuing:

Wizard was not able to determine the existence of the my.ini file. Please find it manually and add the max_allowed_packet=32M entry at the end of the file to be able to store larger BPMN diagrams.

I have attached my my.ini in which the max_allowed_packet is set to 32M

In order to create a new repository, please use the Repository Installation Wizard which is part of the PM installation. The tool will create all necessary tables, including the one storing the repository users.

If you still get "The user is unknown to the repository", please read my answer to the original post:

If you get the error message "The user is unknown to the repository", then your user name was not saved in the database.

In order to enable access to the repository for your user, you will have to create the user using the Repository Administration tool which is part of the PM installation.

Start the Repository Administration, change to the "Security" tab, right click in the "Users" tab and create a new user. Make sure the user name you create corresponds exactly to the Windows login.

I have the same problem. Allready fount a solution? It seems there is no option to create a new repository in Process Modeler. I created the database in MySQL manually, but there probably should also be a table structure created with a table with repository users, in which the repository user and password are stored.

When I try to use the repository feature in PM5 I get an error that says:

"The user is unknown to the repository".

I am using MySql 5.1. I have created a schema for the my process diagrams and created a user that can connect and has full DBA access.

PM5 keeps telling me that the user is unknown. Further more, I can not change the user name in PM5. Regardless of what I put in the Authentication section.

It seems to only be using the user name stated in the "Repository login for..." at the bottom of the connection configuration window. This is my windows login.

This does not work for any user I try to create. I can connect with other applications, just not PM5.

Any ideas?
