    Steve,

your environment (XP Home, Visio 2002) generally shouldn’t make any problems, so I guess something has happened during installation.

    Here some blind man’s questions:
    a) Do you see the main menu called Process including 6 menu items?
    b) Have you tried to install the product more than once on your computer?
    c) Does your installation account have administration rights?
    d) The security level in Visio shouldn’t be higher than medium, because otherwise the macros of the current version of Process Modeler will not be executable. See menu Extra->Macros->Security
    e) Does a reboot make any changes to your observation?

If rebooting doesn’t help, please try the following brute force procedure:
    1) Make a manual uninstall via Start menu->Programs->ITpearls Ltd->Uninstall
    2) Reboot your PC
    3) Double-click Process Modeler’s setup.exe to install the process modeler again

    If still not ok:
    4) make a Change->Repair for the Process Modeler product in the dialog Start Menu->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs

Let me know, what procedure helped you to solve your problem

To my knowledge, the early bird offer has been stopped a while ago.
But due to the fact, this is more a technical forum, I advice you to talk to sales at sales@itpearls.com to get a satisfying answer on update options.

    Wojtek,

indeed your evaluation key should have been valid until 12/8/04 and it is working on my installation. Anyhow, please feel free to request another evaluation key using your ‘wma’ account. I have unlocked this option for you.

P.S.: take care not to include leeding or training blanks, when copy-paste your licensing information into the PM licensing form.

in reply to: Process Modeler NOT functioning #27888

    Hi Amir,

it is a general setting of Visio not to enable macro execution, meaning there is actually nothing to fix. The Process Modeler needs a minimum of macros prepared in the Visio template you use, every time you open a new BPMN drawing.

So, just go to ‘Extra -> Macro -> Security…’ and select ‘Medium Security’ (at least on my Visio2002, it works that way). So every time you open a Visio drawing, you will be asked to allow macros. If you do, the Process Modeler unveils its complete functionality.

    Best regards

    Hi Vinay,

the new build 101 now supports both type of swimlanes: Pools and Lanes, both vertically and horizontally usable.

Feel free to download the new build from our product page.

in reply to: Swim lanes #27880

    Hi Vinay,

the fact that the lane element is still missing in the current build in release 1.1 of the Process Modeler is a result of a major discussion issue in the BPMN working group during the development of the V0.9 specs. The necessity of this element has been proven in the meanwhile as being part of the BPMN core element set.

After having talked to engineering, this element type will be available in the next build (101) of the current release, downloadable somewhen next week.

Both swimlane elements (pools & lanes) are always drawn in the specs in horizontal manner, so we implemented the pool element alike. After a short investigation I found out that both horizontal (left text) and vertical (top text) representations are valid. Build 101 will fix this too.

For now (build 100) as a workaround, you have the possibility to enable the ‘rotate’ permission using the pool’s ShapeSheet. Afterwards use the ‘rotate shape’ function to make a 90 degree right rotation.

Btw, the validation function shouldn’t be affected through this interference.

    Best regards
