    Antony,
Did you use .Net 1.1 and 2.0 in parallel on your computer?
Please try to use only .Net 1.1. We do not yet support .Net 2.0 with PM2.2 officially (in most cases it could work but there are still problems like yours).

    Hilary,
    Thanks for responding.
I guess you ran .Net1.1 and .Net2.0 in parallel on your computer? This works pricipally but we do not support yet officially .Net Fx 2.0 (in the most cases it will be not a problem but there are some situation like yours).
So did you try to uninstall .Net 2.0 and tun PM just with .Net 1.1 installed (if this is possible)?
    Stephan.

I see. We should try to reset all.
    Please do following steps:

    – Uninstall PM (via Control Panel Software Add/Remove)
    – Use regCleaner Tool attached to remove all PM registry entries.
CAUTION: Copy it to a local harddisk (C:) before using.
    – Please enusre that all Files under C:ProgramsProcess Modeler 2.2 will be removed. If not please delete manually (also older installation liek 2.0 or 2.1)
    – Reinstall PM, now it should work

    Stephan

BTW: Could you please send your Windows Version (version, sp) and your Visio Version (version, sp) if the error still remains?

Hmm, OK seems that it would be best to reset all.

A look on your screen shot could imply that your installation did not load the AddIn (no process menu is shown nor other functions are visible).
This hapens, when PM was not installed properly. Please check if there is a Visio running in the background (use task manager). If yes, kill this hanging Visio and restart PM again.

Further, you should get the latest release from our website (go to Download and get pm22en_r4735.exe). We did change some topics on the installation procedure since we launched 2.2. Uninstall first your actual instance.

Third please get also another evaluation license (I did increase your eval. counter).

    Hope this will help.

    I see.
To use Team Repository you need the instalaltion package and an evaluation key for Team Repository. I did not found any entry in our records which is associated with your account.
Could you send us your contact to itp commerce to sales@itp-commerce.com. So we would be able to get you help from our sales support.

OK, if you have a default installation, the connection information (Repsoitory–>Options…) should be set like this (see attachment).

    Strange.
Could you please reboot and uninstall Process Modeler over the Start menu (Process Modeler 2.2 –> Uninstall).
Please ensure that your installation directory was cleaned and removed (normally installed under C:|programs|Process Modeler 2.2)

Please download the lates build from our website (4706) and reinstall Process Modeler.

The license key must be entred when Process Modeler was started. If you start Process Modeler the first time you will get a dialog on which you must enter the license information (licensee and license key) which you got as eMail.

Are you sure your Visio is hanging? Probably this license dialog window will be overlapped from any other dialog.

No. Actually we do support SQL databases engines such as ORACLE, SQL-Server and MySQL.
MS-Acces does not support multiuser access, transactions and security and etc. like the other ones.

We had discussed about a limited instant evaluation for MS-Access which can not be used for team work but for single users to explore the functionality of Team Repository. For what work you would expect a MS-Access support?

It seems that you do not have access to the vild schema or you canot establish a connection to MySQL.
Did you do the preinstall and install steps?
To do that please refer to the installation guide for MySQL.

As I can see on your screen shot (unfortunately there are not all fiels visible) you have used your own named repository user (something like bpm?).
The defautl repository user connection is named “pmuser” .
–> Ensure that your own defined user is in the same group as “pmuser”.

To undestand and optimize the Repsoitory database architecture it is often good to do a default installation with the predefined user and roles as given in the default setup.

Did your installation run with the default settings?

    Kevin,
You have to change to from user view to “expert view” on the Attribute Explorer. To change between User and Expert View use the small “Head” button on the upper right corner of the Attribute Explorer window.

You will find the both attributes in the System Defined Attribute (SDA) area (cost and duration). Double click on the attribute name will open the attribute editor for this build-in KPIs.

You would be able to define every User Defined Attribute (UDA) as KPI. You just have to change its type to “Number” and open it.

Further you will be able to add an attribute to the User View. Use context menu on the attribute name and choose “Mark User View”. So you will see this attributes also in User View.

    Rick,
Find an exam which contains events (Intermediate on the flow and an activity border timer event).
Please note: XPDL 1.0 does not have a definition for events. This means that there is no direct mapping possible.
We map this events to “route activities”. You will get such a XPDL information message if you validate your diagram with XPDL Element Validation enabled.

If you will use a process engine such as Carnot (see http://www.carnot.ag) which is able to read in XPDL files there are much more possibilities to map directly for this target environment. Process Modeler can easily be enhanced with a Carnot extension .

Could you please give me the exactely version of your installed Process Modeler (Menu: Process–> Info–>About). When will this error be shown? Could you attach a screen shot?

    To cleanup:
Please uninstall PM first. Then use attached tool to cleanup the registry (the tool attached works only for version 2.1 and will remove all Process Modeler registry entries).
Ensure that you have no more files under your installation path (ex. C:|programs|Process Modeler 2.1). If there is still a Folder like this, just cleanup this folder (delete) manually.

Try to reinstall the latest build (download from our website under http://www.itp-commerce.com/index.php?pageid=C_001_1&lang=en ).

    Hope this will help.

Did you try to set your Macro security to medium or low?
Until version 2.1 we still have to use macros.
If the macro security is set to high or highest, the Process Modeler AddIn will not start (no Process Menu will be shown).
    Check under Visio-Menu: Extras –> Macros –> Security…
    Hope this will help.
    Stephan

BTW: The actual official version is 2.1 (there should not be any beta around?)
